Rocky Mountain Planning Group, Inc. was founded in 1994 by Grace Wellwerts. It was her vision to create a comprehensive financial planning firm where closely held business owners and individuals could come for personalized, objective and integrated planning advice. We are proud to work with clients both domestically and internationally in addressing all of their financial concerns.
Before relocating to Colorado in 1994, Ms. Wellwerts was a partner of International Financial Consultants which sparked an aspiration to more fully understand and address global planning issues. To that end, Ms. Wellerts spent time employed in the related industries of banking, insurance and securities from 1987 – 1994.

Grace C. Wellwerts
MS, CFP®, CLU, CIMA®, President
For over 30 years, Ms. Wellwerts has been providing asset and wealth management planning strategies to individuals and businesses. The concentration of her practice is in working with national and international high-net-worth clients.
She began in the financial services industry in the mid 1980’s. Ms. Wellwerts functioned as an agent and an agency development associate where she participated in creating training and education programs. In 1990, Ms. Wellwerts became Vice President of International Financial Consultants. Sharing in the joint management for day-to-day operations, she also began to work with international clients.
In 1993, Ms. Wellwerts relocated to Vail, Colorado. While maintaining her own practice, she was employed as the Business Development Officer at Vail Bank. She was hired to investigate the bank’s desire to establish a Private Banking Division. She was instrumental in the conversion of the bank’s charter, and in developing compliance and training programs. Her responsibilities encompassed working with and training employees in various branches. She was also responsible for researching investment products and company affiliates, marketing and training, employee benefits, charitable activities and business outreach programs.
Ms. Wellwerts contributes to the industry in many ways. She is a member of the Investment and Wealth Institute, and recently concluded several years of service on the Certification Committee. She participated on several task forces including Disciplinary Rules and Procedures to the Professional Review Board, Job Analysis, Item Writing and Review and the most recently on the Education/CE Providers Task Force. Additionally, for several of the past 20 years, she was involved with the CFP® Board of Standards. She served a three-year term on the CFP® Board of Examiners.
Ms. Wellwerts also participated in several committees. These included Item Writings and Pair Review, Exam Review, Pass and Cut Score Committee, serving as a content expert, and other vital certification and continuing education functions. Ms. Wellwerts has been utilized by attorneys as an expert witness in a variety of capacities including business valuation, divorce, and securities litigation. She is compensated on a fee-only basis for financial planning plan preparation and asset management services. She maintains insurance licenses and will work on commission for insurance if the client chooses or needs assistance.
Ms. Wellwerts has and continues to participate in many executive and industry programs. She attended the Wharton School at University of PA. Through their Executive Education program the education component of the CIMA certification is offered. Wharton has partnered with the Investment and Wealth Institute for 25 years. In 2012, she attended the Global Risk Management Program at the Said Business School in Oxford, England. She is a member of various industry groups including the Investment and Wealth Institute, Financial Planning Association, Rocky Mountain Estate Planning Council, and the Colorado Planned Giving Roundtable.
Ms. Wellwerts is very active and, when she is not participating in triathlons, enjoys skiing and hiking.

Director of Portfolio Services and Compliance Officer
Ms. Hoch joined RMPG in 2001. As RMPG’s Director of Portfolio Services, Ms. Hoch is the front line of RMPG’s client service and oversees all aspects of client portfolios. As the Compliance Officer, she is the client liaison for all custodial and other vendor-related transactions. As well as producing client’s portfolio reports, she is an expert in numerous software applications and tracking systems. Ms. Hoch’s background includes a variety of office management experience. Prior to her entering a career in financial services, she raised five children, homeschooling three of them. She now enjoys watching her family grow and spending as much time with her grandchildren as possible. When not in the office, Ms. Hoch can be found hiking, snowshoeing, and appreciating the natural beauty of the mountains.
CFP®, Financial Planning Associate
Ms. Geraci spent her middle years right here in the Vail Valley. After graduating from Battle Mountain High School, she returned to Chicago to attend college. She graduated from DePaul University with two degrees: one in economics and the other in political science. Upon graduation, she was employed at First American Bank in Chicago. She joined FAB in their fast track management program. She was then selected among several candidates to join their Private Banking division. Returning to Colorado, she joined RMPG in January of 2008. Ms. Geraci completed the Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional™ designation, Accredited Wealth Management AdvisorSM designation, Certified Financial Planner™ designation and licensed in Life and Health insurance in the State of Colorado. Her financial background goes back many years. Beginning in middle school, she wrote articles in the local newspaper for kids about money and served on Young Americans Bank Youth Advisory Board in Denver. As a planner at RMPG, Ms. Geraci interfaces directly with clients. She is the go-to person in the office for a variety of planning issues such as Medicare, Social Security, general retirement planning questions, insurance and taxes. Much of her time is spent preparing and presenting the integrative details of financial plans. Ms. Geraci is a member of Financial Planning Association, Vail Valley Business Women and Vail Valley Young Professionals Association. Ms. Geraci enjoys trail running, yoga, hiking with her husband and their dogs, camping, snowboarding and taking fitness classes at the rec center. She has completed five marathons, over 20 half marathons and numerous obstacle course races.
In addition, RMPG consults with various consultants with the highest levels of expertise on an as-needed basis. This depth of resources allows RMPG to provide extensive planning services.
